Ramadan Mubarak

As Salaam Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,

All prise and thanks belongs to Allah alone. We praise Him and thank Him. We seek His forgiveness and His assistance in all matters. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah. He is alone without any partners or coequals. I bear witness that Muhammad ibn Abdullah is His slave and messenger. May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him, his family, his companions and every pious righteous Muslim until the Day of Resurrection.

Congratulations to us all, the blessed month of Ramadan has reached us while we still have some life in our bodies and some energy to worship our Lord. What a gift is this Ramadan! Ar-Rahman is making it so easy for us to attain His forgiveness, if you but stretch out your hand it will be yours.

Allah says in His Quran,

Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur’an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful. [Quran 2:185]

My Lord, make me among the grateful, forgive me and pardon me. Indeed, You are Tawwabur, Rahim.

Does Evolution Defeat Allah?

As Salaam Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,

Allah says in His Quran,

Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the Guardian and Disposer of all affairs. [39:62]

and,

That is Allah, your Lord! there is no god but He, the Creator of all things: then worship ye Him: and He hath power to dispose of all affairs. [6:102]

and,

Such is Allah, your Lord, the Creator of all things, there is no god but He: Then how ye are deluded away from the Truth! [40:62]

and,

Say: “Who is the Lord and Sustainer of the heavens and the earth?” Say: “(It is) Allah.” Say: “Do ye then take (for worship) protectors other than Him, such as have no power either for good or for harm to themselves?” Say: “Are the blind equal with those who see? Or the depths of darkness equal with light?” Or do they assign to Allah partners who have created (anything) as He has created, so that the creation seemed to them similar? Say: “Allah is the Creator of all things: He is the One, the Supreme and Irresistible.” [13:16]

and,

Praise be to Allah, Who created (out of nothing) the heavens and the earth, Who made the angels, messengers with wings,- two, or three, or four (pairs): He adds to Creation as He pleases: for Allah has power over all things. [35:1]

and,

He is Allah, the Creator, the Evolver, the Bestower of Forms (or Colours). To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names: whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare His Praises and Glory: and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. [59:24]

I believe in Allah and I believe in His ability to create. To the militant evangelic atheist this makes me a fool, an enemy of science, logic and rational thought. He asserts his belief in the non-existence of His Lord with his unshakeable faith in evolution. To him, it defeats Allah because in his estimation it removes the need for an intelligent creator. He laments the Muslim’s reluctance to jump on the evolution bandwagon.

Since he is so convinced and since his challenge is so serious, we must answer the question, Does evolution defeat Allah?

Of course, the answer is, no evolution does not defeat Allah. How can it? Evolution doesn’t conflict with creation. Before something can evolve into something else it must already exist. How did the first living cell find itself in a position to be evolved from? Even if we say that some random chemical reaction miraculously created that first cell, how did those chemical reactions get into a place to randomly create a cell? Then how did the thing that allowed the chemical reaction come about? Keep going back. Everything in our universe has to have an origin and must have been created from something. Keep going back until you find the thing which has no creator and then you would have found the Creator.

Even if evolution is a cold hard fact as the evolutionist would have us believe, it poses no problem for Muslims, who believe Allah is the Creator. It is no more a serious challenge to Allah than gravity. We believe that no leaf falls to the earth without Allah’s command and yet we know that gravity pulls objects towards the earth. That may seem problematic for some until they realise that gravity itself is the creation of Allah. If evolution exists it is nothing more than a creation of Allah.

Evolutionist make the mistake of over estimating the importance or significance of evolution. Now let someone find that magic machine that creates matter from nothing. That would be interesting.

What Do You Really Know About Islam?

The media tends to portray the religion of Islam according to the actions of a handful of so-called 'Muslims', and therefore unfairly labelling the whole religion negatively. Shaykh Khalid Yasin gives the viewer an insight into the beliefs and pillars of Islam, through which one sees that Islam is innocent from such claims. This lecture is especially useful for non-Muslims who wish to gain the proper knowledge about the religion of Islam.

A Beautiful Supplication

The Prophet, salallahu alayhi wa sallam, said:

“Oh, Allah! Lord of Jibreel, Meeka’eel and Israfeel, the Originator of the heavens and earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen! You judge between Your Slaves in the matters in which they used to differ; guide me by Your Leave to the truth in those matters in which there is differing, for verily, You guide whomsoever You will to the Straight Path.”

An Equitable Word

Say, "O People of the Scripture, come to a word that is equitable between us and you – that we will not worship except Allah and not associate anything with Him and not take one another as lords instead of Allah ." But if they turn away, then say, "Bear witness that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]." Quran 3:64

Jesus – A Prophet Of Allah

Through evidences cited from the Holy Quran and the Bible, Shaykh Khalid Yasin proves that Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) never once claimed to be more than a servant and Prophet of God, and through his Prophecy, it verified & described the coming of the comforter after he departs. Here Shaykh Khalid proves that the Comforter described by Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) was none other than Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Superiority of Monotheism

Narrated Abu Dhar (Radhiya Allahu Anhu): Allah’s Messenger (Salallahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said that Allah (Azwjal) said: He who comes with a good deed, its reward will be ten like that or even more. And he who comes with vice, his reward will be only one like that, or I can forgive him. He who draws close to Me a hand’s span, I will draw close to him an arm’s length. And whoever draws near Me an arm’s length, I will draw near him a fathom’s length. And whoever comes to Me walking, I will go to him running. And whoever faces Me with sins nearly as great as the earth, I will meet him with forgiveness nearly as great as that, provided he does not worship something with me.

After Hardship Comes Ease

As Salaam Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,

We all suffer hardship and setbacks. Sometimes, it feels like were living moment to moment, barely keeping our heads above water. Just remember the favours that Allah has given us, redouble our worship of Him, and place our hopes with Him. Relief is on the way.

Have We not opened your breast for you
And removed from you your burden.
Which weighed down your back
And have We not raised high your fame
Verily, along with every hardship is relief,
Verily, along with every hardship is relief.
So when you have finished, devote yourself to Allah’s worship.
And to your Lord turn intentions and hopes.

[Quran 94 (Ash-Sharh)]
