As Salaam Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,
Alhamdulillah, yesterday by the will of God, I was able to attend the Dawah stall. On our table we have a banner, which says: ‘Jesus Is A Muslim!’. Needless to say we attract a fair amount attention with it, positive and negative. Some have no problems and often they agree that yes Jesus is a Muslim, after a bit of explanation. Others shout, ‘no he’s not’ from afar, others smile and joke with us and others come to the table to have an argument over why it is offensive to Christians. All in all, a lot of fun for us.
Yesterday, I heard two comments that I have never heard before as a reaction to that statement. One was funny, the other insulting to Muslims and Christians.
First the insulting one, a man walked by and shouted, ‘Jesus wasn’t no Muslim, he was a drug dealer’.
Now the funny one, a woman walked by and said, ‘Jesus wasn’t a Muslim’ and then turned to her friend and said, ‘Was he?’.
Both comments highlight an extreme ignorance of the personality of Jesus in the middle of the Christian world. Thankfully, for these people there is a small group of Muslims who are teaching them about Jesus and his role and importance to their salvation.
There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His messenger.
